This program is tailored for ambitious college students pursuing pre-medical studies and high school students who have completed our Clinical Care Technicians program. If you are passionate about medicine, eager to learn from seasoned professionals, and ready to make a tangible impact in advancing health equity of your community, this opportunity is for you.

Benefits and Learning Opportunities:

Comprehensive Training:
​
Participants will undergo an intensive training program, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as medical scribes. From medical terminology to electronic health record (EHR) management, our curriculum covers all the essentials.
​
Mentorship and Preceptorship:
​
Each scribe will be paired with an experienced preceptor from our team. These mentors will guide you through the complexities of real patient interactions, ensuring you gain confidence and competence in your role.
​
Hands-on Experience:
​
Once trained, participants will have the opportunity to work alongside Seva Clinic's primary care physicians as medical scribes. You'll assist with documenting patient encounters, enhancing the efficiency of our healthcare delivery, and ensuring a focus on person centered care. Scribes will be actively engaged in care provided to patients at at least one Thursday every month, applying their learning in a dynamic REAL healthcare environment.

The program not only serves as an invaluable learning experience but also as a steppingstone for further medical education and career advancement. Participants will emerge with a deep understanding of the healthcare system, improved clinical skills, and above all else an
understanding of the value that person centered care holds.

Commitment Expectations:
​
The Medical Scribe Internship has four phases:
Phase 1 = Self paced learning of provided didactic material. (1 - 3 months)
Phase 2 = Mentor skill sessions and Compatency exam (1 - 3 months)
Phase 3 = Scribe shifts with preceptor. (3 - 6 shifts)
Phase 4 = Independant Scribing (12 months)
